Capsule Geology

The Probity occurrence is located east of Muir Creek, 4 kilometres south west of Mount Muir.

The area is underlain mainly by basaltic pillow lavas of the Eocene Metchosin Volcanics.

Locally, an east trending mineralized zone occurs adjacent to a small intrusive body (Tertiary) and shear zone. The zone is reported to be 300 metres long and 1 metre wide.

In 1983, the area was prospected as the Probity claims by G. McTaggart. A sample of the material assayed 1 per cent copper (Assessment Report 12617, page 4).
